A few years ago this one had popped up in an adjacent bed, and has impressed me with it's coloring and very strong stems. Unfortunately, the photo does not quite do it justice. Terry

This is the first time I'm entering delphiniums forums. I usually steer away from plants forum which couldn't survive in my garden, but my mother MAKE me look at this. (she pulled me by the ears and shove my face infront of the monitor!!)I can only drool at your delphiniums. This is one grand looking plant when you can have it in the garden. The colours are so striking. Lucky you!

Rosie, why couldn't they survive in your garden?

Periwinkle, they're so tempting, I drool terribly with enormous frustration while looking at this beauties .....
The slugs don't give them a chance to even sprout out in spring. With extensive vigilance, one or two did made it, but get snapped off and blown away by the wind. It's such a discouraging feeling.

I'm glad you have responded in such manner to my photos, just too bad you could not see them in person! I'm sorry to hear that slugs are such a problem for you!
