Hi Brenda and welcome to GardenBuddies :)
Montana is one of the best places in the world to grow fernleaf peonies. They grow like weeds here in Billings. Some friends in Augusta have some nice ones too. Met them when I was rebuilding the dam at Willow Creek Reservoir back in 2000. We have so many that I don't keep up on where they can be purchased. They are expensive. Don't go into shock when you find them.

My little tiny piece I planted last year didn't make it. I guess I'll have to wait to admire Digger's.

Say it ain't so Joan! Didn't expect to read that.
is how the newest clump looked yesterday. It gets the most sun. The 2 older, larger clumps are not far behind :)

Dave, I am soooo glad you got me 'hooked' on these things and gave all the pointers. I now have one plant that I'll be able to divide after it blooms and two others! They are pretty in every stage of development too. Joan, don't give up...they are so worth having.

Hi everyone, I was lucky enough to get a small, very small plant yesterday. I am thinking there is no way it will bloom this year as it is only about 4 inches high. How long do you figure before it will flower? Should I be doing anything special for this plant? Monique

Nice Dave. Looking forward to seeing more as the flowers open. What a Mother's Day sight that must be at your house. Mine was such a tiny piece, I had my doubts it would make it. The person I bought it from sent it last Spring...she probably should have waited til the Fall. I'll just have to be happy looking at yours. Joan

The yard isn't very impressive to most on Mother's Day. It impresses Deb and I but we know what is going on out there. The yard is mostly full of promise and not many blooms... yet :) Sorry for taking so long Notmartha. I have no idea. A friend was given some by one of her friends over 40 years ago. Edna gave some to us.
