Hey everyone, I planted a Peony a few years ago for my mom. She wanted it close to our house in a small flower box with large rose bush's, hosta's, bleeding heart all within a small 4'x4' area. I was wondering if the peony will grow too big for this spot? If not I would like another peony so I was wondering if I could divide it and plant half somewhere else?

Hi Stephanie , welcome to gardenbuddies.

That seems like a lot in a small planter especially for the rose bush and peony with a hosta and bleeding heart too.

What ever you decide, peonies are best moved in fall (I don't know exactly why but it is what is usually done).

Maybe someone else can give exact details.
