Since I admit to knowing little about peonies in the technical aspect, is this one considered single or double? I think of the big fluffy ones as 'doubles' when in reality they are way more than double.

Tanya there are four classes of peonies recognized by the Royal Horticultural Society. They are single, semi-double, double and Japanese (anemone) types.

Yours is a very pretty single.

What a small world. It seems I have the same looking peony, also first blooms this year and it's name remains a unknown. At least we can both enjoy these beautiful flowers.

Very nice, Tanya, for a young plant. Mine take years to bloom after I plant them.

I've tried to match these to a known variety. Here's the list I compiled.

Polly Sharp
Dawn Pink
Color Magnet
Nymphe

I would have to spend more time googling for better images since it's hard to see the details to know for certain.
