That's about as yellow as a herbaceous peony gets. They are lovely.

Hi, new here... registered today :-) my neighbor has several varieties growing. Her yellow are much brighter yellow, could it be the soil/ground conditions that may dictate the color variations? She gave me seeds too... but I heard that thats a very long process to germinate from seed.

Peonys from seed I hope your a young fellow.Your neighbour's peony could be a newer hybrid or like you said maybe the soil. Bill

So I hear :-) They could take 6 months to sprout...if at all. I placed some in well draining soil. But I think I'll buy a few starter plants from Lowes next time I see them. I'm more of a Bamboo nut I suppose. Take care CJ
