Behind my property lies an area that is somewhat wet. We don't go back there often because of mosquitoes but here are some of the ferns growing back there in the wild

I love 'ferny' areas
I have built myself a fernery a couple of years back. Apparently these were very popular in Victorian times in the UK

Thanks Sam. I can't take any credit for this area, mother nature did this. It is like another world when you step into it from the more manicured garden and see these large ferns and large skunk cabbage (that is what those large plants that look almost like a hosta are called here). Maybe some day if I get enough primroses in my garden I could put some back there too.

Very attractive Terry...
Reminds me of dinosaurs somehow. Similar areas in our climate also have saw palmettos and sabal minor palms.

I have a small collection of ferns. Holly ferns, autumn ferns, shield ferns, maidenhairs, painted, Tree fern and a mother fern. My mom was named Fern & I think of her often when I sit in my 'mental health' swing near the shade garden.

I am not 100% sure but I think the first is Matteuccia struthiopteris (Ostrich Fern)

The third one is Osmunda cinnamomea (Cinnamon Fern)

The middle one I don't know at all, maybe NY fern?

Looks like the perfect habitat for them.
