I have quite a few fern in my yard that stay green all winter. Most of them are the native Christmas Fern. This fern is called the East Indian Holly Fern. I have had it for several years now and the growth is extremely slow. It has several shades of green both light and dark in it's leaves. Mary

Lovely indeed, Mary ! The shades of green in it must give light to a shady place! Would you know its latin name too, by any chance? For if I ask my perennial nursery for a "Fougere sacree des indes orientales", I'll lose consideration there, I'm afraid ! lol... Though I now you wrote "hoLLy", and not "holy", I like this idea of a "sacred fern", its fronds dedicated to fan the statue of some pagan forest god on the warm , humid days in the ruins of an ancient temple in the deepest of a wild indian jungle ... hmmm...

Ferns / East Indian Holly Fern 'Arachniodes simplicor varigeta'. This should be the botanical name. Mary

I love the yellow. It brightens it up. This one will be going on 'the list'. Very nice.
