Hallo, My fern garden isn't finished yet and will take a few years to come to be finished in the sense that all the fern beds are placed, a garden is never finished. Here are a few snap-shots of the fern beds that are already established:
Here are a few pictures of a fern bed that was made this year. The new beds are made as the collection grows. And hopefully they will look as pleasing as the old ones do.

A wonderful collection! A particularly nice example of A. nidus if im not mistaken? How do you manage with the tree ferns (Cyathea? or Dicksonia?) in Z7? Wonderful to see pictures of other peoples gardens. Cheers Rowan

Hi! Nice to meet you. Really like your photos. VERY pretty!!!!! I don;t think people use ferns enough., the textures are so nice, and the different heights & shades make them so interesting. That white pot is VERY nice.... noticed your face on the trees.

Thanks for the lovely comments. The face on the tree is a greenman, I don't know if you know the meaning of a greenman? A greenman is a pagan symbol of a good woodland spirit. It is sad that he lives in trees, that's by the way we still use the saying "knock on wood" because the greenman will help you or bring you luck. During medieval times, the stone masons who build the cathedrals still has a strong pagan background and they would carve greenman into the stone to bring the cathedral good luck. A greenman is always symbolized with a face covered in leaves. There is a cathedral in Scotland with about 90 greenman carved in to it. So this greenman you see on my picture, is the protector and good luck charm for my garden.

Thank you! Greenman seems to do extra good job there...you really have a beautiful and interesting garden.

Beautiful collection! I am also curious to know how you treat your tree ferns. Your name implies they are your speciality. It looks as though the ferns are growing among birches. Has that presented any special difficulties?
