Apparently of the finch family, this is the first time I have ever seen this little chap in my garden
Maybe it is because i am only just beginning to notice?

Great capture! I had one hang around for a short time only this winter. Sweet bird. Thanks for sharing.

We are lucky to see them in the winter so it is fun that you have them in spring.

It's fun isn't it, Sam, to discover these wonderful birds? Great capture for sure. I was delighted to have them around this winter until fairly recently.

Lovely photo Sam, you've caught the little fella really well.

I've only ever seen these in the 'field' so to speak, (and they're aways lovely to spot)...never in a garden, and I'm amazed to see one on a feeder.

I don't know which species this is, I think we get a several in the UK; common, lesser or the much rarer arctic redpoll.

Maybe someone else on here can tell us.

Great shot, Sam.

That's a wonderful picture, Sam. I've never seen anything like this bird around here. I think he has a rather fierce look. Like a bird of prey like a hawk.
