They appeared in the yard this morning, so that was pleasant surprise!
Sorry the pics are a little dark, he was in the shade of the tree!

No, they winter here in Indiana, though I have never seen one during the winter, and move on in the spring. Since I remember seeing them about this time last year for a few days.

We still have these guys here from the winter and I just love their song; it sounds so joyful! Soon they will head north and I'll miss them so much.

So nice to see yours!

They are passing through here right now too. When they're done heading north, I won't see them again until Oct. They are pretty little things and as Carol said, their song is just joyful.

Great pictures, Claudia. This is one I've never seen before. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Nice captures. I had one of these in the feeders with a mixed flock of sparrows in Jan and Feb. even though we aren't in their winter range. It was a treat to have this bird around for a couple weeks.

Same here...but I sure enjoy them while they visit! I have a large flock right now that have been here for a week or two.

I just had a couple at my front door yesterday. It was so funny to see them jumping back with their feet to move the mulch to get at the ground!
