Oh, well done, Zack! I see these at my sister's house, a mile from here, but never at any of my feeders or trees. Great photo!

As I've mentioned, when the bird head is in sharp focus the rest just seems to fall in balance and your photo here is a perfect example. That is such a classic Red-winged pose straddling the two twigs, but not easy to capture. I also really like the soft focus green framing her...well done Zack!!

Wow great shot! Good for you Zack. I've often seen the male, but didn't know what the female looked like, so thanks for enlightening me :) I bet you have tons of birds there that I've never seen, nor heard of though. I've only been to Louisiana once and my trip was amazing. I remember seeing a little type of lizard on our relatives’ home. Also the plant life was just beautiful. Love to see more of your photos. Have a great day. Monique

Thanks everyone. Monique we do have a large variety of birds. We have many colorful perching birds that migrate down for winter. Many we have the shoreline and wading birds. More herons and egrets and pelicans and cormorants than you can shake a stick at! The little green lizard is a green anole, here's one eating a dragonfly.
