Hi guys. Isn't it wonderful when you get more than you expected. I got my waterproof trousers and my FIL, bless him, bought me W.S. trowel and fork with brown handles, rubbed them down and painted them bright yellow! My SIL bought me 2 solar lanterns that have candle like flicker bulbs inside that I can hang either side of my gazebo and hubby got me a printer!! So many other really thoughtful gifts too. Not one present I didn't love.

Sounds like you were all good [0oGBo0]s too! Lisa, are you a big UK fan? My sister lives in Lexington and is a big fan too. GO WILDCATS! You got cool stuff too, Moira. Those lanterns sound lovely. Show us a pic when you get them up.

Way to go, Seil!
...and not flowery?
Are you sure? Fish tank walls are hard to see when they are brand new. I didn't get anything garden-related, but I did get a new computer. My son is thrilled because as soon as I finish transferring files from my old computer, he'll get my old one all to himself.

Look at it this way, Loretta, you didn't get the addition BUT you won't have to keep it clean now either. I'd love to get a newer Photoshop version but I'd need to get a newer computer to run it on first. I've looked at them and they aren't compatible with my 2000pro system. Oh well, maybe next year I'll get a new computer like DJ and get all the way up to XP or some new fandangled thing.

Less time spent cleaning = more time in the garden, right? But maybe next year... Looks like everyone did very well. I have to say one of the biggest gifts for me is when it's all over. Bah humbug!

All I really wanted was a big flash drive to backup my old computer. With this new computer, I really do wish I had a cable modem. As it is, my printer is completely incompatible with my new computer. LOL! If I can scrounge up the money for it, I want a printer that prints photos so I can make nice farm and garden greeting cards to print and sell along with my produce. I guess I did get one garden-related thing, though. I got Poison Ivy on my ring finger, presumably on the day my Dad and I put the heater hose and battery in my truck, whichever day that was. I almost always get PI when I spend any amount of time in the garage.

Poison Ivy for Christmas. You must have been naughty! Was there coal in your stockings too? I was able to to hook up my old printer with a USB cable. No other ports on your old printer?

That's a shame DJ. Both the poison ivy and the printer snafu. I've been out looking at printers all day too. I don't have my own right now so anything I want to print I have to save to a disc and take over to my brothers computer to print. It's not difficult just annoying. They have some of those all-in-one printer, copier, scanners for under $100 all over. Now I just have to decide which one. Be careful what you get though. Sometimes the printer is inexpensive but the ink cartridges will cost you a fortune! I want to show you a couple of pics of my pot and the solar bird feeder I got lit up.
I think they look really cool. The bird feeder has 3 settings, white light, amber light and an auto setting that fades back and forth between the two. It's much brighter than I expected too. The pot is a solid purple color and turns kind of pink when lit. I'll put the feeder out right away but the pot will have to wait for spring now. I may not actually plant in it though. I think I may just set another pot down in it instead. I don't think I want to leave out side all winter so if I just double pot it I won't have to dump it out every fall.

That is a neat feeder, Seil. You'll have to tell us if the birds stay up past their bedtime to use it. Good idea about double-potting your light up pot and not leaving it outside. I can't wait to see it in action.
That's what my husband said. I've read nightmares about some of those printers not working with computers and people having to reformat their computers to get them to work again. Scary!
Nope. My printer is at least 10 years old. Very old technology. LOL. I suppose it's a miracle that it even works still, but I've never been real big on printing things out. Now, if I get a color printer that prints good quality photos, I'll probably burn that out in a month. LOL!!
*snort* Nope, but if there had been, I would have found a use for it. HAHAHA!!

Agghhh!!! Will you all stop writing so much. Can't keep up. Sat here listening to Amy Winehouse on the stereo, having a quick drink before dinner. Children both out at sleepover parties tonight and we have 15 coming to ours tonight. (Thats what you get for not hosting Christmas!)
Will do Seil but you may have to wait a while. I don't intend putting them up until the Spring. Not sure how well they will weather as they are made out of wood.
Sounds cool Loretta. No idea what Turbocad is though. Is it similar to Photoshop?
Yellow was his choice not mine. I am just happy I will be able to find them LOL!! Lisa who are the Wildcats? Are we talking sport of some kind? I am a foreigner you know so I don't have a clue who you are talking about...UK is not here is it?....You are going to tell me it is some cool, of the moment, group or something now aren't you?
Lorretta! NO! Come and have Christmas with us one year. You would love it. To me it has always been about who you are with that makes Christmas.
That was top of my list DJ. Got mine at last. Up until now I had to email whatever to hubbys computer and then print off there. Such a pain. My printer is now faster and better quality than his HAHA! Seil your pot and feeder are lovely. I may have to find a supplier here for the feeder. I really like the idea of something useful being ornamental too and I so have a thing for solar powered anything! DJ poison ivy sounds nasty. No idea what it is as we don't get it here. I am guessing something like our stinging nettles. Must go now. See you all in 2008!

Seil, I love the bird feeder!
Well I might have to come & spend one Christmas with you too! I was a bah humbugger this year and the past couple of years...used to love it, now not so much
Yes, a college basketball team (although they aren't doing so great right now)! Moira you are lucky you don't have poison ivy there. Sometimes I think I get it just from looking at it! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4SUNA_en___US216&defl=en&q=define: Poison+ivy&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title

I agree. Sitting around and chatting and eating good food. Hee hee!
Ooooh, lucky you!
Again, lucky you!!! I can't imagine living someplace that doesn't have PI. You must have something to make up for it. LOL. I've gotten into stinging nettles and it doesn't give me nearly the reaction that PI does. Some day (when I get Paint Shop Pro loaded onto my new computer), I will show you last year's case of PI, if you can stomach it.
LOL. I don't even have to do that to get it. HAHAHA! Well, now that I am on here, and Moira is complaining about us writing so much, here is some new shopping for you. LOL. Seil, have you seen the latest Gardener's Supply Company catalog (www.gardeners.com)? They have candles to match your Blom Pot. They call them Flower Pot Luminaries and use LED lights. http://www.gardeners.com/Flowerpot-Luminaries/default/37-374.prd;pgid=Jf3MN B4H00000000000000000000v9HYrtsN;sid=grYcgmbk9bLl_SGe1woWgGbu7yTzNjGUHXU= Now for items of general interest... They also have something called the Living Wall. You can grow Hen and Chicks vertically, or whatever else you want. That might be kind of cool instead of my Dutchman's Pipe Vine idea for that huge blank space on the front of my house. http://www.gardeners.com/Living-Wall-Outdoor/default/37-001RS.prd;pgid=Jf3M NB4H00000000000000000000v9HYrtsN;sid=grYcgmbk9bLl_SGe1woWgGbu7yTzNjGUHXU= I love their Ladies' Bogs. I like the version with the bright yellow flowers. I know.... how girlie! LOL. My chickens would never give my feet a rest. http://www.gardeners.com/Women-s-Bogs-Neoprene-Boots/default/36-866.prd;pgi d=Jf3MNB4H00000000000000000000v9HYrtsN;sid=grYcgmbk9bLl_SGe1woWgGbu7yTzNjGU HXU= My Mom likes the Mole and Vole Repellent idea, little balls with Castor oil in them. She has an armadillo problem. LOL. Here's a pretty little branch for bird feeders or flower baskets. My Mom thought it would make a cool tea towel rack. I agree. http://www.gardeners.com/Bird-feeder-Hanger/default/34-118.prd;pgid=Jf3MNB4 H00000000000000000000v9HYrtsN;sid=grYcgmbk9bLl_SGe1woWgGbu7yTzNjGUHXU= Moira, check out these little solar lights: http://www.gardeners.com/Solar-Bluebell-Lights/default/36-526B.prd;pgid=Jf3 MNB4H00000000000000000000v9HYrtsN;sid=grYcgmbk9bLl_SGe1woWgGbu7yTzNjGUHXU= http://www.gardeners.com/Northern-Lights-Sphere/default/36-850.prd;pgid=Jf3 MNB4H00000000000000000000v9HYrtsN;sid=grYcgmbk9bLl_SGe1woWgGbu7yTzNjGUHXU= Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go smack my husband away from the pecan pie. LOL. Happy New Year [OoGBoO]!

Turbocad is a 2D drafting program. I'm going to try to use it to doodle my second floor since Autocad is so expensive.
That is very generous - you never know...Lisa and I may show up at your door... Actually, it's the big list of "to do's" that seems like I will never finish that keeps me up at night. Once the holiday comes, it is always a relief.
That's OK. We were all up a little too late last night. But if that what it takes to be a goldfish, I am so there. Seil, that solar birdfeeder is really cool. (I have to say though, I get the heebi geebies when I think about what might be feeding in my yard at night). And the pot would be so nice around a patio. You did good!
