Walking around our garden with the camera I noticed this scene:
No flowers visible but I like the different shapes and textures of the leaves. Could you please also show pictures where flowers are not the main attraction but the combination of leaves, shapes and textures. I'd really like to see them.

This is a fun assignment. I'm late here but it is winter and I have more time (not really) to fool around with the photos and learn a little. Thinking about it, I may have misinterpreted. Autumn Bride has a very rough texture, a little hard to use. I have to rethink its position. Black Mondo and Ivy in fall. I love Black Mondo grass. I guess my family doesn't agree though because when I offer a start, no one takes it. Blue Chip Ajuga, dianthus, sedums, rock rose, etc and an out of place gerbera leaf. Snow Queen, Sixteen Candles and Microbiota decussata

Very nice pictures Loretta! I really like the first with the glossy sheen of the asarum and the red leaved plant (can you tell me the name please?). I also like the last pic, not in the least because Snow Queen is in it . I think your Black Mondo grass looks great in that composition, but, like your family, I do not care for it in my garden. Thanks for showing these pictures!

Thanks Friso. The red plant in the first picture is a plain old purple leaf Sand Cherry - Prunus x cistena.

Three other pretty foliage scenes, photographed in a belgian garden ("Les Deesses Vertes") two years ago :
And in another (private) belgian garden, the match between a fern and an asarum:

Thanks Zephirine, beautiful pictures. With foliage that pretty you don't miss any flowers. I visited the website of Les Deesses Vertes: that is a very nice garden!
