I don't know if you like fish or not, I love it and also I like very much to go to the market for buying it. My city is in the sea shore (a port). I want to share with you the market in the city center, near my floor.
There are many shops, probably about 50, I took pics of only some.
Here you can estimate the variety of fish and the prices.
When the photos were taken it was early in the morning, for what there are no people buying and the owners are placing the fish, an hour later possibly would be difficult to see the fish because many people come to buy. Please share pics of your fish market with us...

I do like fish also and your market looks like it carries a wonderful variety of fresh fish! We eat mostly salmon and tilapia at home, sometimes halibut or sea bass. Occasionally, we also eat fresh shrimp and crab when they flown in from the Gulf of Mexico once a month. There is a vendor who sells from the back of a truck in ice chests. Do you have some good recipes for your fish, Mariae?

Your photos are as usual wonderful. You captured the early morning hours at the fish market well. It would be interesting to have a picture with the crowds to show the difference. Having grown up and worked in NY City when I was younger, I know how crowded it can get. Where I live they don't have this large a market. In New York City they do. All the local fish stores buy from there and then sell to us.

That reminds me I must renew my fishing licence, I love seafood and should eat more of the abundant species around here

Wonderful photos, Mariae... Oh, I like fish too, but I'm afraid that's one thing I don't like to cook. I do love to eat it in a nice restaurant though! ;) I favor trout, or most any mild flavored fish.

I would kill for a market like this. Our selection found in local stores are pathetic.

In our little town we don't have an open fish market, but we do have a little shop at the dock. It's called 'Codfather's'. I will go this week again and take my camera this time. But your fish market is just spectacular! The only market I've been to that has any amount of fish is the Pike Street Market in Seattle.

I thought I had a better picture of it, but this is the only one I could find of Pike's Place Market that Diane mentioned. There is quite a variety, but it's still nothing compared to a European market. I throw in the flowers because that's my favorite part of the market. Plus the famous sign.

There is the market building, in top (windows) there are fruits and vegs and in the basement it is the fish market.
The market with some people, at midday, not many. When there are many people is in friday or saturday at about 1200-1300 hours. This is the city market, of course there are fishstores in many more places as superstores, but I love to go here because you have many places together for choosing the quality and the prices.
