Everyone has such pretty foliage specimens! Puts mine to shame, as you will see in a moment. Loretta, do you (or will you) keep that coleus year after year? I can see why it is your favorite seedling. I have Red Twig Dogwood 'Ivory Halo' (Cornus alba 'Bailhalo'). It gets brown leafspots every year, but I love it anyway. Aside from a couple of runty hostas, I think it's the only variegated plant I have.

Yes I have been doing that. I still loose a few though. But your dogwood is beautiful, one of my favorite plants. BTW, It doesn't just have to be variegated, look for shape and texture, I'm sure there are some interesting things around. Look how beautiful Cindy's fern shot is. Donna, that oxalis has become a favorite of mine, another one to overwinter. Olivia, does the Burgandy Glow ajuga come back for you? It hasn't been hardy for me but I love the color. None of the variegated ajugas stay around here.

Cindy, is that a Spider Plant in your flower bed? I never would have thought of planting one in the ground. That's original!
Here's hoping you never lose all of your specimens of that one. It's definitely a keeper!
I think you'd be surprised! I do have ferns, but other than that, my gardens are sadly and seriously lacking shape and texture. The only other foliage I find of interest in my beds are the Iris fans (although I do have a nice Sage bush; Tanya's Sage pic belongs in a catalog!). One thing at a time around here, I guess.

DJ, it sort of planted itself. A couple years ago when we washed the house I moved all the front porch plants into the yard. They sat there for a week or so and one of the spider babies rooted. Surprisingly, it not only thrived, but survived a number of 20 degree nights last winter. Must be a little microclimate there.

Imagine that... I found something else! (And it only took me a week. HAHA!) My son has a little patch of corn and pumpkins at the edge of my Foxglove/Daffodil garden. The corn is Red Stalker. I like its stems and foliage.
