It's time for a new assignment. If you could have anything you wanted for your garden what would you ask Santa for? Now what are you really asking for? For me, my super wish would be for a pond with a waterfall and/or stream. I'd love to try water lillies. But I'm asking for new pruners and gaunlet gloves.

I asked for a new 75' or 100' garden hose so I don't have to hook 20 hoses up together to reach all my plants! lol

Oh, so true, Lisa. My lot is just about 100' foot square and to reach those corners is murder and the connections always leak so you end up watering yourself more than the plants. In my dream world all water hose connections would go together quickly, easily and NOT leak!

Almost all of my hoses/attatchments have those quick connects on them (got em' at Big Lots & surprisingly, they have not leaked yet). I love those things. I had a "Little Christmas" with my family tonight & my brother is going to put in another hose bibb for me so I don't have to drag the hose that far away anymore :) That will make watering so much easier! Yay! I also got a really neat hummingbird feeder & bath from my sister. It is made with like a blown glass. It is very pretty & it has blue/green colors...not that girly pink! lol

My dream wish would be a greenhouse..but we just don't have the space for it. My real wish was for gift certificates from one of my favorite nurseries so that I can shop to my hearts content!

Yes! A greenhouse would be so nice to have, wouldn't it? I don't have the space for one either. I still love looking/shopping for them though (just in hopes that one day I will have one) ;-) My mind seems to be functioning a lot better this morning...I am thinking of all kinds of things I'd love to have. A composter is one. A rain barrel is another :)

If I could have anything - For Santa's elves to come remove the 13 year old deck and replace with coblestone or tumbled brick patio and while they're at it, let Jose and Ralf go ahead and dig out those two Cherry tree stumps. :)
To not receive one complaint next year when I stay outside from dawn till dusk, even if it's just a puttering day where I'm wandering around. gawking, taking pictures, drinking beer and hanging out!!!! (especially considering the time and money I've spent the last 3 weeks overhauling the living room. :) )

I want a new well that could take care of the needs of my crops, flowers, and private garden all on the same day, without limit. What I asked for... my Mom was out of ideas for gifts, so I told her about those glass bleeding heart ornaments from the "Come Shop with Me" thread. And I told my Dad it would be nice if next year they could come up while my flowers were in bloom for once, instead of in the fall or winter when all of my gardening efforts have faded away.

I want a greenhouse and a green roof with a deck for parties, with lots of outdoor electric - I want an electric socket at each eave and hedge for Christmas lights and I want an outdoor sound system. And a pond. I also want a tube slide coming off the deck. Oh and also, I want an entry court with a water feature. And a kitchen garden. For that I might have to knock down my neighbor's house and take over his land. And since I have more land now, I might be able to get a pool going without cutting down my trees. Santa, I've been vewy, vewy good! What I could really ask for...I wouldn't mind having one of those big leaf vacuums that can grind up small sticks too.

LOL! I wish I could knock down all the houses that have been built around us (except for the one directly across the street -- it's too cute). Either that or I'd like for all of you people to buy them and be my new neighbors. You could buy my veggies and I could spy on your lovely flower gardens. Duh, what was I thinking? I could even hire you all to do the farming for me. LOL!

I'd also love to have an irrigation system at my house. Or at least more than one faucet in the backyard. Oh yeah..I can think ot lots of other things too.

HAHA!! Me too Loretta. All of the above. Well all apart from the pond. I have that but I would like to have the room to make it bigger. I have asked for brightly coloured tools so I stop losing them all the time. A new pair of waterproof trousers (The ones I have came off badly in a fight with a rosebush) and a printer so I can make cards from my photos.
Only if you get goats!
Yes and that too. Having a terraced garden is a real pain when it comes to watering. The year we had a hosepipe ban I had to carry a watering can up and down the garden so many times I ended up with a frozen shoulder!}

OMG! Look at all these goldfish! Looks like you've all been outed!
You guys took the words right out of my mouth. I was thinking I forgot to ask Santa to leave a couple of elves at my disposal. And Suzy, your absolutely right about that one. I might as well add an irrigation system to my list.

But if I get goats, then I won't need help from anyone. The goats will have eaten everything.

Oh wow, all great ideas. I think I want quite a few of these myself. Yes to the greenhouse and the irrigation system for sure. I'm not sure I'd want a gardener though. I really enjoy being out there myself but a little help might be nice. I wouldn't want to take over my next door neighbor's yard. She's a Master Gardener and we swap and share all the time. Now the one behind us is another story. Her lot goes all the way across both my neighbor's and my yards and we'd both like to be rid of that weed and pest ridden mess. Fish we are and Fish we're proud to be! [0oGBo0]
