No not a primula at all. I can't quite read the label but it is a gesneriaceae of some sort, possibly a hybrid involving Ramonda or Haberlea. It looks like a good show, the standard at AGS shows is very high. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Primula seedlings

I can tell by the labels these were raised by a very good friend of mine David Philbey who has raised some super hybrids and allioniis and is always very generous to me.

Primula aureata

One of my favourite primulas but almost impossible to grow in the south, far easier in the north and scotland.

Oops....showing my ignorance there Pat.
I've zoomed in on the original and it says X Jancaemonda Vandedemii....completely unknown to me....lovely specimen though.

These were just a few photos of the plants on show as you can imagine.... so many plants...my batteries couldn't cope...and I had no spares.

What a brilliant circle of friends you have Pat.... I hope your friend did well at the show!

mentioning labels....when I get home from cyclamen shows, I can always recognise your plants by the labels

Dee,

What great photographs...It must have taken all day to load and post them...
I particularly like the Fritillarias especially lusitanica.
I still have a soft spot for the Pulsatillas...
The papageno looks fantastic...Just wish I could grow them to half that standard !

Thanks for sharing.
The quality of plants on display were great. Your photography wasn't bad either...

I think I might be going out and buying a few more alpines...

Thanks again...

Hi Roy,
It was a great show..as ever....brilliant plants exhibited. It must take great dedication to get the plants to such a high standard.

You're right, it took ages to download the pics....but it's nice to share isn't it.

It's amazing what point and shoot cameras can do these days.

I really liked the Cyclamen purpurascens; there were no flowers of course, but the leaves were huge..and so perfect....I would love to grow my plants to that standard.

I know what you mean about wanting to go out and buying more alpines.....
