G'day all, Greetings from Melbourne. A couple of comments on the subjects above:
It's a red hot 44°C day, decided to do over the Cyclamen's for Mum. Cut off all the dead leaves and seed pods, scraped the top couple of mm dirt off to collect any seed. Placed the above in a sealed container (labeled various Cyclamen) and bare-rooted the tubers, planted them in new containers. They (like the seed) are all mixed up so we should get a beautiful floral display, and of normal and dwarf together. Now, I say floral for a reason. We grew them for the flowers only. Is that weird? In reading - looking at the photo's in this forum, the one thing missing is the flowers and the colour thereof. We have a stunning white (could'nt change the background to show white text ), a deep red and a light pink. They all have the same leaf style and colour. (Sorry, no photo's until they start growing / flowering again). Any comments welcome...

Hi Graeme, welcome to the cyclamen forum. It sounds as if you may have some florist type cyclamen. Here they are grown for indoor display, the winters are too cold for them outdoors

I for one am a big fan of the leaf variation of cyclamen. More than any other plant I grow, it fits the advise "go for foliage rather than flowers as good foliage is there longer." Now when I have them in flower, I do appreciate them, especially ones with a scent, yum.

Hopefully we'll get you hooked on more of the species so you'll appreciate the leaf form too

Hi Terryk, after looking at so many photos of the various leaf patterns, I'm awed (well, ok, just a 'lil bit) and will definently search some out at the local nurseries.
Cheers

Well if you get stuck, you can always start them from seed, Tim and Jan offer seed for sale...
