Hello--I'm new to the forum, and still a fairly inexperienced gardener. I noticed in the photos of the Cyclamen that there is gravel mulch around the plants. I live in the Pacific Northwest USA, and the soil in my garden is not very good (still working on ammending it). I have 3 little Cyclamen coum planted last Fall, with only a compost mulch around them. Should I have gravel also?

Thank you, Kaguyahime, for your answer. When I bought the plants last fall, I had no idea what to do, so I planted them at the depth the nusery had them in the pot. It must have been correct, because the plants bloomed this winter, in January. They were lovely. I hope to plant more of them.
