I am not very successful at growing this species in the garden but as I like the form of the flowers on this plant I grow it in a cold frame.

Lovely flowers aren't they....like little pink shuttlecocks! I have little success growing them in pots too Melvyn. I think only one of my plants has survived in the garden this year, that one is growing beneath a Daphne, 'Jacqueline Postill'....the others probably drowned in all the rain last summer! I've bought some replacements from Ashwoods recently, so I shall be trying them in the garden again.....probably under the same daphne, to keep the other one company.

In pots I have no problem at all, plant the tubers around 10cm. deep. I will plant some groups in our new garden this summer. I will bring some plants to Wisley the 5th of April, some white flowering plants as well. Regards, Jan

Very pretty and a nice photograph too. I was fortunate enough to see these blooming in spring 2006 on the island of Krk very near a colony of Helleborus istriacus. The cyclamen were mostly growing on fairly steep slopes there.
