Looks like your cyclamen are loving the bed you made for them. Great job!

Galanthophile, Terryk, thanks. Just took this one, getting dark here. I had 37 flowers open today. Going to be nice when each plant has 10+ flowers, can't wait till next fall.
Cilicium update. I stuck these outside a couple months ago, they seem to be happy now. Thinking about planting them outside.

Your cilicium look great too Guff. I remember when you got them they were a bit shriveled looking, now they are fat little happy tubers! 37 flowers! Your doing great!

Starting to see life in my seed pots. I have one purpurascens flower opened today, I sure did miss the scent. I did repot my three large purpurascens plants into separate pots a couple weeks ago. Need to do the same with my other seedlings soon. TerryK, the more I think about it. I think I will just plant the cilicium outside. It was hard keeping them growing indoors through the winter.

Planted out the cilicium the other day. I decided to plant them next to a Pine Tree, between its roots. I dug down about a foot, and filled the hole with compost/sand mix. I then placed each plant at the very top of this mix, and placed gravel around and on top of them. Since I don't care for the gravel look, I then topped them off with straight compost. Hopefully this works well, I plan on planting my purpurascens the same way.

Guff you must be so proud of your cyclamen bed. Can you stop by my way and help me rebuild my bed??? Those little tubers look like pearls on the sand. Which species are they again?

Terryk, they are hederifolium 'Rosenteppich' and 'Ruby Strain'. They seem to doing well so far with no grit. Another week or so I will mound some soil up around each plant. I'm going to get Jan's dark purple form come summer. I'm mostly interested in different colored flowers, then leaf patterns. I was going to order C. hederifolium var. confusum a couple weeks ago, but never heard back. I'm pretty happy with both beds, I only had one flower in the second bed though, which is mostly all shade. Hederifolium must like some sun, because both beds had the same compost/sand mix. Also the leaves are huge in the first bed compared to the second. I think I have 15-20 flowers that set seed, so it will be interesting come summer to see if I do get some. I know next fall I will be putting/making a plastic cover to keep the rain off. When it rains the flowers bend over to the ground, most get bent/crimped in the flower stalk, they die soon after.

So far, the cilicium seem happy. Added some pine needles for some extra winter protection.
Purpurascens. The seed pods that I had set on this plant last time it flowered, all withered away. Still have some growing on my others, so hopefully those continue to grow.

Looks like they made it through another winter. I really don't see much of a difference in leaf growth from November pictures. They must not do much growing of new leaves here during the winter months. I suppose the corm does do some growing, it will be interesting to see how big they are. It's dark and chilly here, maybe next week or week after I will take some better pictures.

Wonderful display Guff. You did a great job. When I visited England this year, hederifolium form ground covers. Maybe some day in a couple of years yours will too.

TerryK, thanks. I did some looking around, the seed pods look like their still alive/growing. How big are the seed pods when mature, marble size?
