Happy New Year to you too, Jan. The leaf in the fifth photo is special; is this a new addition to your collection?

Hi Tim,

This is a C. x whitti, I crossed a very good silver centered C. hederifolium with C. graecum ssp. candicum. I have six seedlings like that.

Regards,

Jan

What a great collection, I like them all! Photo 4 & 5 are interesting, but I like the last one too, and the first and....

Once again Jan, I have to say what special plants they are.

I like the hederifolium x graecum plant. Is it the first crossing you've done with these species? I've seen other plants which are said to be of that cross, but they're not so pleasing to the eye as that one; you chose very good parent plants.

Wow, Jan, they are all beautiful!

The patterns certainly play off of each other with the silver and green combinations. I'll take one of each!

Any ideas on the hardiness of the hederifolium and graecum cross? Will that plant produce seed? How many seedlings from the original cross did you grow and were the other seedlings similar?

My favorite has to be the long leaf form with the silver center.

I had a feeling you would say that, Carol :-)

Hi Denise,

This was the only crossing, no luck last year. Three stock plants have several seed pods now. Last year I harvested 22 seeds, the first seedling just appeared. The mother plant was a superb silver centered C. hederifolium, the father a C. graecum ssp. candicum with a fantastic leaf pattern. Is that crossing a C. x whiteiae, or is it just a good C. hederifolium, cannot tell you.

Regards,

Jan
