My shade bed this spring. Mostly filled with hostas and accented with some daffodils (gone in the picture) and lots of fortet-me-nots in the front area.
It's still a work in progress for the front area of the border

What a lovely variety of hostas, Terry! I miss those little blue flowers of forget-me-not and brunnera.

Beautiful Terry. How long have you had this bed established?

I already admired your shade bed in the other forum. It's dimensions are very impressive and the number of hostas are even more impressive. I wish I had more shade to grow more hostas.

Thanks everyone! Denise, the bed had already been in place when I moved in 7 years ago but the solid green hosta had just been placed around the edge of the bed. Weeds were over taking the center of the bed. So about 5-6 years ago when I really decided I wanted to garden I dug out most of the hosta from the front area of the garden hacked them up into smaller pieces and wedged them into the back area between the tree roots. All were the solid green ones which have been filling in nicely in the back right side of the photo. I don't know the name of the green one and I don't know how long they have been here, they were a very nice size when I moved in. Then along came a few light colored ones and they really have been taking off and giving some contrast, then along came some ferns. The bleeding hearts were a trade and they took off over the last two years. I had thought of adding more hosta to the front but now with this virus scare going around I am reluctant (see the hosta forum for more details). I added the path into the bed 2 years ago and as you can see the rocks in the center remain to be filled in completely. Now I am thinking of adding some cyclamen along the edge of the path so they show up in late summer into the fall. So you see the mind is always going on how to improve it-you can certainly feel free to suggest some additions to the front. Susan I love the forget-me-nots also, but right now I think I have to pull some as I need to let some little plants tucked in front get more established. I am sure this bed will have them for years to come as they are good self seeders.
