A little worse for wear but thought I'd point out a few of my favourite edgers. The border with the Silver Dogwood is edged with lamium "White Nancy and "Beacon Hill". Purple Palace Heucheras do well here too. Astrantia is in front of the Hydrangeas and Astilbes are in the corner by the walkway (can't see in this photo). The bed bordering the walkway is edged with ajuga, the daylilies which are finishing now are "Grand Palais". There is a large clump of Japanese Iris and an azalea here behind it. The bed by the driveway is where we lost a large Drummond Maple this year. I am working to change it into a perennial bed and it will be trial and error. The evergreen ground cover that looks quite wooly is creeping veronica. It is a must have if it meets your zone requirements and you want a non invasive ground cover to act as a weed suppressor and form a beautiful blue mat in the spring - early summer. The large perennial is baptisia - not sure if it will stay - I have a dictamus planted here too but it is small and a slow grower that doesn't like to be moved. I was hoping that it would catch up to the baptisa and then it wouldn't look so unbalanced. This bed includes many perennials already, some which include, Rosa Tom Tom, a collection of pink bearded iris, dianthus flashing lights, minature hosta, astilbe, and siberian iris. Definitely an area I will have to work at. I am also continuing to work on the perennial bed that edges the other side of the driveway (also not in picture). It is an ongoing project. We pile all our snow here in winter - with banks reaching 6 ft high - so the plants have to winthstand the crushing weight.

The whole landscaping looks great. What really stands out for me is the row of Hydrngeas along the house. They look fantastic. I have 2 of these so far and I intend to increase that number hopefully through cuttings. You named so many plants...I will have some fun googling and researching.

It certainly does, Kim! Everything is neat and beautiful and you can tell much thought put into the planting.

Everything is meticulous, both house and gardens. I think because we live in the same general area, I was able to recognize all your plants. This year I have very little colour, probably due to the heat and drought, so admire your lilies and contrasting foliage colours. I have only begun to use hydrangeas. Why did I wait so long? Mine are "limelight" and just beginning to take off. Dictamnus is a fabulous plant, once it finally thrives. More than one is always nice....

Very beautiful! You obviously spend a lot of time planning and then a lot of time grooming your gardens. Everything looks lovely and cared for.

Very impressive and loads of hard work in that photo. Do you know the scientific name of your creeping veronica? I wasn't sure which of many it was. Also, I have much to learn about hydrangea, what are yours?

Honestly you have to visit to get the full impact of this girl's hard work and creativity. She is on my tops list for beautiful gardens..Everything IS so pefect..When you walk around the left hand side and walk down..Heaven.Like in a book of dreams.Compact space with every inch put to it's highest and best use..Planned ,well executed harmonious plantings that work..so beautifully that you really do go..ahhhhhh.. I hope most of you saw some photos from that day. And Kim is always ready to share ideas.. to point out what does well. her combinations are just so pretty. But very romantic also which I like..I think a garden needs romance to make an impact like that on me.The front was a mat of Blue when I visited earlier with Jacques and Derek. And quite truthfully the photos don't capture the whole feeling..maybe SLM's top views..looking down..but they are different in person..even better.
