Hi. I am just so excited to find all you guys, I can hardly stand it! I have gardened about 15 years, but have never been satisfied with the way the gardens have looked all year. I have a large shade area with little paths, and a sunny (well, not full sun all day, but enough to grow some sun lovers!)perennial border. I had to put my gardening on the back burner for a few years because I was taking care of my Mom, but she has now moved into a wonderful Alzheimers facility close-by, so I've been able to start-up my passion again! Each week when I go to the grocery store I buy about 3 bags of tulips or bearded iris. My first step is to get my spring garden going. Next in line is the summer garden, and I can hardly sleep at night because all these ideas are roaming through my head!!A special thanks to Deanne for posting her garden pictures, they are such a HUGE inspiration. I'm going to post a few pictures of my garden a few years ago, it's not too bad, but it is far from that now, many of the iris have rotted. I spent about 8 hours pulling strawberry plants out a few weeks ago. But the great thing is that I feel like I have an almost clean slate!! Well, thanks so much for looking and posting your lovely gardens!! I'll be studying them intensely!!

Welcome to GBs! Gardening is supposed to be relaxing, but you're not the only one who spends sleepless nights planning (and worrying... and regretting...)
I'll be looking forward to seeing and reading about the further development of your garden.

Denise, yes! I am in the process of replacing many of the ones that look bad. I've bought several from Wal-Mart. Blue Moon has been giving me great advice about replanting and I can't wait to go buy a few bags of topsoil! I worked hard for a few hours today in the garden. The temperature was nice, but it was so humid and I gave out fairly quickly! Thanks for the kind words about my garden.

Welcome Leslie - you have a lovely space. Those gardens will be rejuvenated in no time at the rate you are going. They are looking pretty great already. You'll find lots of inspiration here - and lucky you - you have the space for lots of new introductions.

Hi Leslie,
I know that feeling of not being satisfied very well. I look at it as motivation to try something different. Welcome to GB.

Hi Leslie,
Welcome to Gardenbuddies. It's obvious from your beautiful pics that you are a very skillful gardner. Looking forward to seeing more!

Next time I'm not sleeping because I am wrestling with ideas for a new garden bed I will know I am not alone.
