I have a couple weeks of these hot colours before the border becomes calmer. I appreciate them while they are here - but I find the garden more relaxing with a calmer palate. This was taken early a.m. so it is a bit dark.

These lupines are so pretty. I don't think I can grow them here in Georgia, but I would love to try.

That's a pretty setting Kim. I want red lupines. The nursery only had yellow today.

Is that a wine & roses wegeila? I know what you are saying about waiting for the pastels...just tonight in fact I was thinking that I needed some less intense colors in my garden. I am going tommorrow in search of some lighter colors for next spring's show of flowers.

I have two little lupines grown from seed. They won't flower until next year but I'll take whatever color they are. Lovely batch of peonies as well.

Even though the photo is a bit dark the colors are so vibrant! I'd love to see your peony in full bloom.

I do have a question about lupines - if you, Kim, or anyone else can help. Jodi gave me some seeds a few years ago that I carefully planted in the garden where I wanted them to grow. The next spring I had two lupine plants in a totally different garden - right in the front! A bird or squirrel assisted planting, I'm sure. They have bloomed for two years now but they are too tall for the front of this garden. Do you think I can safely transplant them and if so, when?
