FIRST PICTURE - wall with raised plant bed behind house. The area provides access to the rear door to kitchen, the basement and the barbeque grille set-up. SUN-early spring; PARTIAL SHADE-Apr to Jun and SHADE-July to Oct. Many of you have asked "what types of plants" on the back fence area. Rhododendrons, azaleas, jessamine, climbing hydrangea, jasmine, beauty-berry (Calicarpa), weigelia(Wine & Roses), tea olive(Osmanthus Fragrance), lilies of valley, various hostas, astilbes, cranesbill, lady's mantle, heuchera and paper bark maple. Within the next 15 days I'll add some hanging baskets at each pole, usually ferns and fusia (pending on the price at the local Food Lion)
Most important, glad I joined this website, all of you that have contacted or commented to me have been wonderful.

Charles, your garden looks wonderful and your bird houses are awesome as well (just saw them in Classifieds and Hobby Forums). Oh, and your pictures!! Wow! You are so artistic! Some people just get it all! ;)
PS: Since you asked about my profile picture...it is Clematis "Viola"...well Photoshop helped me a little.

Hi Charles. Welcome to Gardenbuddies. With your pretty rock walls and gorgeous cedar fence, it's hard for your plants to NOT look good! By the way, I love how you mixed in the red and gold coleus in the second picture. I am a big fan of red and gold coleus. I should probably use it more of an accent. Instead I go nuts with it:
