I visited and exhibited at this show yesterday. As there were a lot of primulas on display I thought I would post it here. It was only a small affair held in a church hall with the object of interesting the general public in alpines and hopefully gaining a few new members and raising funds for the group. Winning or losing is not as important as putting on a good display although there were some quality plants on display and here are some for you to enjoy, thanks for looking. The last plant Trillium Rivale ,Purple heart' was judged to be best plant in show.

I wonder if you were at the same show as Ann and Sue? They both are celebrating birthdays (twins) and they have a trillium posted in the birthday wishes in the social forum. What a show it was Pat, did you take home any prizes? I sure wish I was back in England visiting the shows.

No Terry, Tunbridge Wells is quite a way from Hexham in Northumberland. I think this is the season for the Alpine Garden Society to have its Spring shows around the country. Here are a few of my favourite plants from the Hexham show.

It looks a great show, it's a good way of showing the local community just how lovely alpine plants are. Are they your primulas in photo 16 Pat? I love the Trillium Rivale 'Purple Heart' , I've never seen anything like it before, how beautiful. I missed my local primula show a couple of weeks ago....I put the wrong date on my calendar ....and I so wanted to look for more p. allionii. The Midland AGS show is middle of April, so not long to go now. I think most of the primulas will be finished by then though .

Congratulations Pat. I'm not suprised after seeing so many of your plants posted here. I thought you were far apart, but then, I was not sure how far everyone traveled for a good show. I guess the cost of gas is curtailing the long trips. After all you need money to buy some plants to bring home! Looks like everyone had an enjoyable time at their separate shows.

No they belong to my good friend nigel fuller who gave me 4 primulas yesterday that have only just been named and who also drives a 80 mile round trip to water my plants when I am on holiday. Top man.
