I had put tags on my Pink Lily of the Valley flower stems to see if they make seed. They do make seed. I thought I had read that the pink form were sterile.

Guff I am sure they are just a selcted form of the normal wild plant and fertile. My comment on this is its as big a pest as the ordinary white one. At least the striped leaved one is a little less vigorous.

Tony_willis, I was mostly curious, and I do like the pink form, which I only have maybe 8-12 flowering size plants. I did cross the pink to the giant white flower form(both way crosses). Might be interesting if my dabbing of pollen produces a giant pink form. Planted all the seeds in my Pulpit bed. I will worry about thinning them in a few years. I have no idea how long these take to flower from seed.

They're really lovely, Guff. Good idea to make those crosses. Keep us posted on how they turn out.

Yes, I would be very interested in knowing how your seeds turn out.
