I recently purchased my very first Camellia which will be shipped to me in May. I just can't wait! I ordered camellia donation as my first but have my eye on a cultivar called Chow's Han Ling for a possible second purchase. I am not sure as of yet where I can find this one either, or who offers it for mail order? I am also still somewhat puzzled about plants which seem to flower differently. sometimes you see a photo with stamens showing and other times not on the semi-doubles anyway. I am also doing tub culture since my climate is too severely cold for this plant group. I also do tropical hibiscus and plumeria so am venturing into camellia as well. Any tips or info especially on Chow's Han Ling would be appreciated. Thank you Butrscoch

Growquest in California has it for sale but I do not know if they ship were you live or if you have to purchase through a local nursery. Check them out here: http://www.growquest.com/Camellia%20&%20azalea/camellia%20mega_list.htm

Mathotiana is also a good choice as well. I once considered it when I saw the large double red blooms but ran into -er- difficulties. I was going to grow it in the ground and it likes milder winter regions. Since I am in Zone 8, bordering Zone 7, I considered container growing & gave up hope when I noticed how much the pooches like the mulch in the existing containers.... :0( Good luck growing Chow's Han Ling and Mathotiana!
