I remember the photos you posted of C. azalea: an unusual and very beautiful camellia. Good that you are able to propagate it.

Ton - that is indeed a success! Please take care of the mother plants, don't cut them back too much now (they must still be small, hopefully they will produce much new growth).

Hi, Ton! Just coming here I see your quite pretty picture! Yes, that's a wonderful result. Many congratulations!! How did you root your cutting? Can you, please, describe your mixt, watering, food, temperature and light, if you did so? I wish a great life to your baby!!

The soil is professional soil for cuttings and contains 15% sand. The soil is medium wet and the bottom temperature in the propagator is 22 degrees Celsius. After the young plants have roots I put them in normal soil and then I use 10:52:10(N:P:K) as fertilizer. I have made about 10 cuttings in that way.

Thank you very much for your reply! If I understand you right, then your cuttings have not been covered? They grew without plastic-bags? When are they outdoors? For my cuttings I use splits of horn and dry blood, that makes well, too.

Ton Magnificient, Ton. It is indeed a great succes,it is very difficult to get rootes on this Camellia. Now hoping that it will grows. Crossing your fingers. Do you cut without any plastic bag? Do they not dry out than? Congratulations again. Kind regards Ton Wijnen Holland

I have a special propagator with a plastic cover so that it is light enough and air circulation. My mother plant grows very well.

So, I suppose, there is also a heater and a misting-system. For such nice camellias that is a must!
