I don't remember seeing such large seed pods on the camellias in past years. Especially the Higo, Nana Komachi, has produced one about the size of a lemon.

Congratulations! I am so jealous! I have not had naturally occurring camellia seed pods here but, I understand that you can wait until October-ish (or when the fruits looses its shine and cracks) to get the seeds. It is important to let the seeds mature attached to the plant. Once the fruit cracks, keep them in the refrigerator... in a plastic bag with moistened perlite until Spring arrives. At that time, you can transfer them into a pot with a sand/ground peat mix. The new plants should flower in 4-5 years.

for the first time I have seeds on the camelia.the seedpod opened and now I`ve got 4 seeds!I wanted to ask when and how to sow but my questions have been answered, see above.thanks.one seedpod was already empty when I looked so those seeds lie on the ground and I left them there.is there a chance that they will germinate in spring or will winter kill them?

I planted fresh seeds from Tama-No-Uri (sp?) about two weeks ago, and all five have already begun to sprout under lights in my cool garage. Maybe the cold treatment isn't always necessary, but it does eliminate the need to provide winter protection for the seedlings.
