Today I have made a site about cuttings of Camellia. http://members.home.nl/hanninkj/stekkencamellias.html I translate it in English in the future.

Hi Ton! That's just coming right, thank you very much for sharing your quite simple method. The pictures showing step by step how to prepare the cutting is very, very useful. It seems so easy ... and in the reality, yes, it depends also of our hand .. :-) You recommend poor soil mixt with sand. But what about to sterilize the soil? When I took seeds from a tea-plantation, I put them just in a mixt of substrat, sand and peat. But they rotted all, so it can be that was because I didn't sterilize the soil. How do you do? What and how do you clean ? But thank you once more for these useful pictures!

I have professional soil special for commercial use. We can buy this as society but it is at least 70 l. I use about this amount in a year. This soil I can use this with seeds for 3 years without problems.

Oh! for three years! That must be a very good soil which didn't loss its quality for such a long time! Is it allowed to give its name? My soil is also one I bought, but I mixed it with peat and sand 1/3

Hi, Ton! So I saw the link. Your special soil is it this bio-soil? I didn't see others. The pH-value is certainly one of the mostly interesting. I return to the site!

Ton thank you very much for your explanation. The photos make things clearer than a thousand words could. I also looked at the site, there are also soils for sowing and rooting cuttings. Do you use those?

The best time is from april to august depending of the species/cultivar. Look very good to the kind of the young wood and use it if it is good. I give more information in the weekend because I can read the information on the bag.
