I have just returned from a plant holiday in central and northern Greece and the hellebores were just some of many beautiful plants seen. Most of the photos were taken around Mt Parnassos or around Lake Tavropou near Karditsa, I assume that they are all H.cyclophyllus no doubt others can advise.Photo 5 shows typical companion plants with Fritillaria graeca, Anemone blanda and Ornithogalum sp most places also had Cyclamen hederifolium and various crocus sp. I will post photos of Iris and other plants in other forums.

Wow!... Melvyn, great photos of great plants in a great scenery! With the exception of Fritillaria all visible companions are absolutely identical to the ones in central Albania, including Cyclamen hederifolium. Mount Parnassos is a classical and very famous site for Helleborus cyclophyllus. The last two photos are very exciting and now I know where I will have to go next spring! Thank you so much for posting.

Beautiful photographs and excellent photography- What camera do you use? Love the setting of the last one. The plants seem very healthy but not as far advanced as I would have expected.

Its a Sigma SD10, there were other plants more advanced but not to the point where seed was ripe. Many thanks to you all for your kind remarks, if you want to see other photos from the trip see the iris and vacation gallery. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did Tony, safe travelling.

Melvyn, thank you for sharing your photos in Greece. I like especially the photo of H.cyclophyllus with a background of the beautiful mountains covered with snow.

Some H.cyclophyllus from Mt Falacko in Northern Greece. They were well into seed both here and then again on Parnassus.

Thanks for the photos, Toni. Again, the general impression is identical to what I've seen in Albania. You have not collected any seeds?

Thank you, Tony (not -i), I was mislead by your statement that "They were well into seed".
