Everyones home now. He was at work. "Lion in Winter" . Can't find the great shots of him in the snow. They are here someplace. Just got him back today. He's a heavy humper. Tall too, hard to find a place to grip on him. This is my FIRST garden statue. He was at work. Only for a year. Used to sit under a really pretty cherry tree at my other house. I have to go insearch of . Anyways. He is under the pines now. Poor thing lost the tip of his tail a year ago when the movers grabbed it. Silly Boys. Have to glue that back on with something or other. He is getting cracks that are opening up. Used a silicone grout sorta thin in the cracks before. Have to find a better product.

WHOA! THAT'S SOME LION YA GOT THERE! DOES LOOK HEAVY ALL RIGHT. Thermaseal might help you. or Thoroughseal. It is a concrete product that sets up in 30 seconds. It seals water leaks while under water.

I need to seal a water fountain I have of my mother's. I noticed that water is leaking out and I checked it out. It must have been moved a little bit and left a crack along the bottom side of the catch pool which looks like a wooden bucket.

Plant Forum Hes a heavy humper let me tell you. Dead weight. He doesn't help you at all, not even lift a paw. Hopefully. this is his last trip anywhere. getting too old to be moving this stuff.
wow! thanks for the heads up on that product. Much appreciated.
He is starting to get cracks when something could happen. Parts of his wings. His cute lil footies. lol.
just love his face. I wish he would get more green. He starts getting really good. then. it goes away. Last year he had all sorts of liken type things on his face. they aren't there like they were.

He does look scary! Have you poured the concoction of mixing moss with yogurt or butter milk to help the mossy stuff to grow?

I notice in my yard that mossy stuff grows when there is moisture, but once the summer heat comes along it dries up, but it is still there and plumps up again as it receives moisture. Although, you do live in Ohio where it is pretty humid in the summer. Maybe not enough rain like Seattle. lol

We have a shake roof and there is all kinds of moss growing there which I discovered after we have had a big rain storm and the water had over filled the rain gutters due to lots of leaves that collected due to non maintenance.

All these moss clumps have floated over the rain gutters on my deck. But do I cry, no! I gather them up and plant them somewhere else.

Now I've been the diligent one to get a ladder and check out the gutters. Low and behold I discover all the moss growing on these shake shingles. Goldmine! Yippee!

Unfortunately we are due for new shingles and I really want cedar shake shingles again, but hubby says it cost a lot and the insurance companies like the non wood type shingles.

We're in a stand still right now about it until I did actually climb up on the roof top with my son and saw how precarious these shakes are.

So I might just have to give in...sniff.

Have you tried smearing yoghurt on him? I've read that will encourage moss to grow. I've never tried it myself, though. I think a little mossy fur would suit him beautifully :)

He is starting to green up but, I bet he is 6 years living with me,I thought he would of been greener by now.
This Spring I am going to try the the smear and see what happens. Was wondering if temperature has anything do do with how it works.
