I worked at a greenhouse several years ago and we used to grow a plain blue petunia that was extremely fragrant. I think it was called azure skies. All the scent has been bred out of the current showy ones on the market. This little plant was great to put in a pot on the deck because it smelled so good. Anyone know of any seed available for a plant like this??

Bumping it up for you Bloomin. I don't know the answer but perhaps a knowledgeable Buddy will reply.

I used to grow old fasioned vining petunias that were shades of purple and pink that were very fragrant. I believe I have seeds I gathered from them somewhere...I'll have to look for them, try to germinate them and let you know. If all is successful, I'll share seeds, but I first need to find them. I grew some petunias that I believe were the blue bush type. As I had studied them in some magazine or somewhere. Either they were grandiflora or something. I had red and blue ones growing together and they really had a scent as visitors would always tell me how nice they were. They seemed to even grow up my rose bush a foot. The hummingbirds loved them too. So this was about 13 years ago and they are the blue ones that go great with Puffy 18 inch Marigolds.
