I just bought a pack of these seeds, and they say they are an annual. My daughter has some that come back every year.Is there a type of these that are perennial or are hers self seeding in zone 5? If they do,will I find them popping up everywhere? Thanks

Yes. Except for me. I love them but they never come back for me....I have too many other things shading so while I buy the plants, next year their seeds can't find a way to find the sun...then I just buy another plant. Yes. On the coast anyways. It's almost considered a weed.....except if you have alot of shade plants LOL. Lungworts provide me with the same sort of blue and pink flowers (with silver leaves no less) and it's perennial...at least in my Zone 8.

They always come back for me, and they are exceptionally hardy. You will love them!

Yes I've always found that they will re-seed and come back year after year, and not always where you want or expect! They are charming little flowers though.

They will come back in all the wrong as well as the right places but the roots are so shallow they are never a problem. I strip the seed heads and scatter them where I want them to grow the following year.

You have to see Kim's garden in the spring, it is a wonderful sea of blue forget-me-nots.

There is Myosotis and Cynoglossum. I've grown a Myosotis type called Blue Bird. People were surprised by them, thinking they were a very pretty weed, wondering whether or not I put them there. It was perennial but looked so ratty by the third year, with old leaves completely black coming out of living stems, I cut them back and they didn't like that. I did start more this year. They flower the first year from seed and produce plenty of seed so I prefer to grow them as biennials. Brunnera is another nice substitute for anyone who wants something tidier.
