I usually pot my all of my annuals unless it's something I've grown from seed myself. I don't like to use valuable turf area for them otherwise. Here are a few pix of some of them. The only ones here that are in the ground are the zinnias I sowed this spring.

I do have a few dianthus in ground because they will occasionally winter for me and rebloom the next year.

I love this candy cane striped geranium. Very Festive.

I love petunias but they're starting to get pretty leggy by this time of year. I've never had good luck pinching them back either. Then they usually just die on me.

I have these snaps in a very protected place and they will sometimes stay in bloom right up to Christmas.

These are Martha Stewart zinnia seeds from K Mart. I couldn't resist the chartreuse and purple colors.

Hope you all enjoyed the show.

So many beautiful colors,Seil! The candy striped geranium is a stunner and you have some neat dianthus. I grew the same combo of zinnias this year. Everything is lovely.

Sharon, you must have a million pots to have such a kaleidoscope of colors! I love the patterns on your multicolored flowers. Seeing your pix has made me realize that my garden has been lacking flowers like those. I will have to remedy that as soon as possible. I feel like I should look through a pinhole in cardboard to look at your flaming orangey-yellow Snapdragon for fear of burning out my retina. Absolutely radiant! I almost got sucked into buying someone's combo pack of orange and chartreuse Zinnias for next year, but they had a minimum order size and I was already maxed out on my plans for next year. You're making me tempted to do it anyway...

They are perfect partners.

Thank you, Tammy. I was having a big party for Memorial Day (to watch our city parade that happens to go right past my house!) and I decided to do red, white and blue pots this year so most of the geraniums I got were red and white. The striped one fit right in.

DJ, I have 102 pots, 37 of which are roses and the rest mostly annuals with a few herb pots, one tomato, one pepper and three long window box planters of corn (my brother's idea) thrown in. I DO NOT recommend this many pots to any one. It is sheer madness trying to keep them all watered. Especially this year with this heat and drought.

Colors are my thing. I could never do one of those formal color schemed landscaped gardens. I like things bold, bright and colorful. Besides, if something comes in 5 colors I can never decide which is prettiest and have to have them all. Those orange and yellow snaps were right in the rays of the setting sun too which made them even brighter. If you change your mind on those zinnias, like I said, you can get them at K Mart's next spring. I don't usually buy Martha's seeds (or anything else "Martha" for that matter) because I think they are over priced but these were just so cool I had too.

Thanks, Plantynut. The purple ones are singles and about 2 inches across but the green one's very full and almost 4 inches wide!

You are too funny!!! I can just see you out there watering them all. You must never go to bed. Haha! ... I can relate to having to have them all. When it comes to non-multicolored flowers, I feel like I do have them all. :-O I would love to see pix of your sea of pots. Have you thought about buying emitters to water them for you? Do you have to move your pots into a garage or something over the winter to keep them from breaking when the weather freezes?

Pretty flowers Seil. I would love to see some pictures of your containers..from farther back. I am always looking for combinations and color is my thing too, so I would trust we would have similar taste! I have trouble though keeping up with the few pots I have 15 or so, can't imagine having the number you do.
