My neighbor wants a dinner-plate red, and I want a dinner-plate white. Can anyone give me a resource you have used, and some names to look for? Thanks GBs!

If I could have only one red dinner-plate Dahlia, it would be Barbarossa. I bought mine from Breck's last year. I'd still have them except that my husband accidentally threw away my tubers. :-( I didn't want to prune mine back to only 1 or 2 blossoms per plant, but they grew large anyway and I had gobs of them.
This one is pictured beside my laptop, so you have something for a size reference.
This bowl is 14" in diameter. The blossoms were hanging over the edge.

Why don't you post this on the dahlia gallery?

Aargh, LInda -- I'm still so new, I guess I just forgot. I'll do that.
Thank you DJ. It's on my list for spring '08.
