Hi- don't know if anyone has tried these before. But when I was at the Seattle flower and garden show I spotted these and thought I would give them a try. They are seed balls made of clay and seeds. It says you just lay them in your flowerbed and water. But I wanted to keep an eye on them so I started them in pots in the green house last week. The ones I sending pictures of at Bachelor Buttons. They have gone crazy sending out sprouts. The Cosmos I got are much slower, just starting to send out a few sprouts. Kind of fun and very lazy !!

They remind me of little eggs hatching flowers. Neat!

I found this: http://www.pathtofreedom.com/pathproject/gardening/seedballs.shtml I once saw a show on TV where an old farmer pricked out seedlings and planted them in balls of clay. The purpose was to keep them from drying out before getting them planted.
