Hey all... Thought I would share some pictures of my first attempt at a in ground pond. Built it for a friend of mine free of charge last summer! Just goes to show you what you can do with a little bit of research. It's a 5500 gal pond complete with waterfall, deck and retaining wall. This Christmas the owners gave me a nice photo album with the step by step pictures in it. Maybe some day when I find the time I will try to put them all on here. Its spring time here in Maryland and I have yet to see how the pond fared over the winter but I hear all is good. Ill have to get over soon because they wintered a variagated canna for me and I def want it back!

Oh I spent many a night laying on the couch moaning and contemplating the search for an easier hobby! When you get that first picture of a Koi investigating a blooming water lily with a Leopard Frog sunning on it and it makes it all worth the while

Wow, what a wonderful place to rest your tired aching back. You have done a phenomenal job and deserve to be rewarded by relaxing and taking it all in. Just lovely. I have been told that one is never satisfied with their first pond - it is the second or third try that fits the bill. Your pond is an exception to that school of thought. Looks like you got it right the first time.

I just love it! If this is your first try, I can't wait to see what you will build next
