Hi Steve,
Please forgive my blunder in getting your name wrong. I love nature; so I am sure that I will definitely enjoy the time that I spend looking at all of God's beautiful wonders of the world. Thank you for welcoming me to Garden Buddies and for giving me instruction as to how NOT to blunder again. I had a neighbor here in the USA who lived about 3 houses from me who raised exotic birds... parrots, cockatoos, and cockatiels. They moved to a rural setting because the city was on them about the noise that the large exotic birds make at sunset. They are good, loving people who really love the birds that they raise. I miss them since they have moved away.

Yes, Steve,
They can be noisy. I have been at my friends house a sunset when they were the most active. I love the birds though they all have their own personalities. I can't imagine what it would be like to live where parrots would come to your yard. I don't have a digital camera; so I can't post photos at this time. I thank you for replying to my posts though.

Okay, Steve, so how tropical are you? I guess it does snow in Hawaii. And they are tropical! LOL

So I haven't looked at Australia on a map lately but are you near an ocean or in the center of the continent?

Do you live close to where they filmed The Man from Snowy River?

Cheri I dont live in the tropics more a warm temperate climate similar to L.A. I live on the coast 100 miles north of Sydney but a thousand miles from the nearest crocodile. We do have some very big crocs up north I'm talking close to 20 feet so I'm glad they dont like the cold. The family farm where this pic was taken is further south and inland and only about an hours drive from where they filmed The man from Snowy River so in the winter it gets a lot colder than where I live

Oh, then you wouldn't mind a visit from another garden buddy. Sounds like a great place to be.

We have the same problem here in Idaho. They brought back the wolves to Yellowstone park and northern Idaho. We don't want the gray wolves. They want to bring back the grizzly bear too, we don't want them either.

They kill people.

They have the same problems in florida and the southern states with Alligators and Crocs. I think they do make nice suitcases and shoes and belts and I guess meat if you like the taste. I think we might have taste a bit while in New Orleans or was it Florida.

I think the little alligators are cute and held one, I got pictures. Heehee. We went on a swamp tour while in New Orleans, Louisiana.
I'm glad we were able to go there before Katrina hit. That incident was so devastating to all. And will take a long time to clear up and get back to the way it was.

But hopefully better than the way it was.

On your pic of the parrot, there is blue behind him and this really neat looking Bamboo? or another type of plant with the layers of green and almost a smokey mauve or lavender. What is the plant? Is the blue a swimming pool?

Cheri if you want to see a full sized shot of the parrot and my swimming pool it is posted in the bird forum. The plant you think is bamboo is a native palm tree and the mauve plant is erisine.

Slim our pond covers 19 acres in the middle of a 16,000 acre cattle, sheep and deer farm. There are about 50 dams on the property about 5 stocked with trout.
