We just bought a huge lily on Monday. We have a very small one that we bought about a month ago, its getting new leaves but thats about it. I dont know how old the plant has to be to bloom. Anyhow, when I came home from work this afternoon this beautiful bloom was waiting for me at the pond on the new lily I just bought! This is the first plant I have had to bloom in the pond so I am very excited!

I love water lilies! It's so tranquil having these lovely flowers floating upon the water!

Yahoo! I love that when that happens. It makes all our back breaking work of lifting the waterlily pots and lugging them around to different areas of our ponds or the work of dividing and fertilizing and trimming, etc.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I have been spending all my free time in the yard here lately. I put in a new flower bed and I am exhausted but loving the results! The lily has a new bloom on it now. The old one died off. Which makes me wonder... do they only get one bloom at a time? There are a couple more under the water but only one opens at a time so far. Come to think of it, I dont think I have ever seen one with more than one bloom at a time open.
