This spring my husband burnt off fall leaves where my 2 yr iris bed is..I now see several iris leaves now brown!.. the foliage destroyed...will the roots send out new shoots when this happens? It was windy and the fire went across the plants quickly but enough to destroy the new 2-3 inch shoots of leaves.I am just disheartened as these were plants given to me by my mother years ago and hope the roots weren't destroyed as well . any suggestions other than taking the matches away from my husband???
