Beautiful Wiliam. Would look wonderful next to my black one. Have you named it seeing as you invented it?

Loretta notice the two blooms at the top of stem well thats a no no blooms have to be like the steps on a pole. One right,up,one left,up one right. If you have four blooms like that and no damage then you have best in the show.

I see what you mean. I'm trying to think now if my irises do that. Anyway, I'm not a show person, I like the flowers in the garden.

I agree with Loretta. What person has the right to tell a flower it is not growing properly. I like the way it folds over on itself like it is a little bit shy to come out.

Jim spring is the best time except if its really hot fall is a second choice, keep roots moist when they are out of the ground.

different. Some say right after blooming, some say 6 weeks after blooming. Thanks again Bill.

Beautiful colour. Yellow Irises have always been my favourites. Impressive that you've had it around so long.

Did you have any problems with your Iris in 2007 at all?

Mine didn't really bloom and I was asking around at another garden forum (didn't find stumble upon GB then) and other people also reported problems last year... maybe the plants did not bloom as much or not at all. I am not an expert on Iris, nor do I know exactly what I am doing in cultivating them, but it just seemed odd to me that practically none of the plants, even the most hardy blues didn't perform at all last year. A friend of mine in central Europe said she experienced the same.

Maybe I will start a new topic with that question.

You might be the one who can help identify a yellow which I bought commercially (did I ask this before?) and lost the tag for:

I really like the brightness of your seedling.

You could name it "Nothing Fancy." I think it's beautiful, no matter what its name is.
