I have a heck of a time growing Nasturtiums and I was told to add sand to the soil for good drainage.I don't need alot of sand as I am growing in a container,and I cant find a small bag of it.I do have bird gravel sitting around and was wondering if this could be used?A better question might be will the extra calcium from the oyster shells hurt the plants?Any suggestions to make a good soil that these will be happy in?Thanks

The grit will work fine. Nastursiums are not real picky about the soil; just don't make it real fertile as you'll get more leaves and less flowers.
