I'm in the market for a new composter and am interested in everyone's feedback. I'm thinking about a dual tumbler system, but I'm not sold on anything in particular yet...Anyhow, I'd really appreciate your suggestions, thanks :)

Sorry I can't suggest anything Verdant0green. As a matter of fact I am also looking into the same tumbler system. They came in 3 sizes but I think the 635 liter is too big for me to fill up. Perhaps 2 small ones 140 liter size would be better as the picture illustrated explains that the compost should ready within weeks. This is good news as I need lots of compost for my new garden. I really cannot decide which one I should invest in. Did you finally get one of those? The sales guy couldn't tell me exactly what I would like to know.
I like the idea that this composter is not on the ground. My present compost site is in the woodland corner in a very medieval set-up and very exposed to the woods creatures who visited the site looking for food/rats. I only throw in organic stuff but truly don't understand which creature would enjoy rotten peels and used tea bags. I am not very happy about the whole situation. It would be great if someone with the tumbler system could share their experience.

Hi Roses, I ended up ordering this...

http://compost-twin.com/

They claim that the compost will be ready in 2 weeks, but its more like 2 months. I don't really think any composter will give you compost in that amount of time, unless you are keeping the pile to the absolute perfect ratio of moisture/ingredients (who has the time?!). BUT, 2 months is a lot quicker than 6 or 9 months.

With that being said, I'm happy with the composter thus far. Its easy to turn, add water, add materials...And it hasn't attracted any wildlife. I wouldn't add the compost starter that they send with the composter, unless your composter is far away from the house, because it STINKS and attracts flies. Now that I'm no longer using the composter starter, I hardly have any flies.

Here is a picture (somehow my dog ends up in 95% of my pictures!)

That's good news, and the kind of things I would like to hear.It took me more than a year researching this composting subject. You have been very helpful in one of my decision making. This system is not that cheap, but you have convinced me that this is the perfect composter with the right criterias most suitable for me. A speedy 2 months composting and ready to use sounds excellent. Thank you for your feedback and tips about not using the starter. I'll place an order soon for those falling leaves. I've got heaps of them.

My dog too. Everytime I switched on the camera, his ears perked up, when I start pointing the camera in a certain direction, my dog seemed to think there's something interesting in that direction and he went to investigate....lol..he's somewhere in the picture. Can you locate him?
