Was wondering if one could, shall we say, re-cycle or re-use soil that was once used?

Seems I throw quite a lot of soil away when the plants die. Was wondering if I could re-use the soil. What do you say?

According to our Georgia gardening expert, Walter Reeves, you can re-use container soil unless the plant was diseased. Remove the top 1/3 of soil and add new, then you're ready to go.
