Has anyone used their morning glories as a ground cover rather than having them grow up a structure?

Terryk I did not intentionally use morning glory as a ground cover. And it does not work well. We bought our house in the fall a year and a half ago. The morning glories were already there. And they seeded in the flower bed and were growing like crazy!!! But, the new ones that sprouted in the flower bed never found the fence. They actually started running across my yard. I was out there pulling them up and cutting them back. They would never do as a ground cover cause it would be next to impossible to keep them contained. They were beautiful in full bloom on my fence though!!!
