Does anyone know what these bugs are, they are all over my Lupines! Should I spray them with 7? How do I get them to die?

Help!

Thank you so much! I bough some bug B Gone and sprayed the plant, I guess we will see. I may go pick each of them off. I love this plant! :) Thanks.

Try a strong stream of water rom your hose or use insecticidal soap. The thought of picking them off grosses me out.

Used the pestiside yesterday and it killed 80% of them I am pulling them off with my hands this evening, it is like being on Fear Factor! ;)

I think they are potato aphids

There are beneficial bugs you can buy or encourage into your garden that LOVE to eat aphids. Aphids generally seem to like soft new growth - so keep a lookout on plants that have new growth.

On another forum I describe these aphids....mine were huge so I called them jurasic aphids! Interestingly, they bothered only my lupines..these ones...and I take a gloved hand and squish, squish, squish! Bug-Be-Gone works...I tried everything on the worms that attack and strip my gooseberries..biological, organic you name it...then used this stuff (BBG)..no more problems. Sometimes you just have to pull out the big guns.
